Full Dentures and Partials

Missing teeth can greatly affect your ability to eat, speak and smile properly. Our goal at Byerly Family Dentistry is to give your mouth full functionality again. Two types of dentures are available — full dentures and partial dentures. Full dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Full Dentures

Dentures are made of a plastic base that supports fabricated teeth. The base is shaded to match the natural color of your gum tissue, and the teeth are usually made of porcelain or plastic. Dentures are made to match the structure and form of your individual mouth and will help maintain the look and structural integrity of your face. Dentures are shaped to exact proportions based on custom impressions of your mouth.

Partials

A partial denture covers only part of your mouth. It stays in place with clasps that secure to your adjacent natural teeth. Partials are usually recommended when one or more of your natural, healthy teeth are still in the mouth. Of course, it is best to keep as many natural teeth in your mouth as possible, because the more natural teeth, the greater the integrity of your jawbone.

We are eager to serve you and your specific needs. Call Byerly Family dentistry today if you would like to speak with a dentist about denture options for you.
